Environment Canada shows temps of last few hours but not precipitation. Most apps only show the future. 00:24:18 Carol Pearson: The oc transpo app, I've heard Bus Buddy is good. Other apps Rocket man, Magic earth, Moovit 00:24:19 Chris Taylor, President OPCUG: Mobile Communications Best Practice Guidance https://www.cisa.gov/sites/default/files/2024-12/guidance-mobile-communications-best-practices.pdf 00:27:34 Natalie: @Lynda: try https://ottawa.weatherstats.ca/ 00:27:37 Bob Herres: Excellent and positive analysis ! Looks interesting. Don't see past precip by hour but at least it gives it by day. Thanks! 00:30:07 Allison: Thanks, Carol, I will look at those apps (for OC Transpo). 00:30:41 Allison: Lynda, not an app but I use this website for weather data: https://climate.weather.gc.ca/historical_data/search_historic_data_e.html 00:32:09 Lynda Buske: Replying to "Lynda, not an app bu..." Looks great for daily history but doesn't appear to show by hour. I just want the last 8 hours, ie since I went to bed! 00:34:45 Natalie: Replying to "Lynda, not an app bu..." Tt has the overall daily precipitation or snowfall for the last 2 weeks. But the graph only shows it for the entire day, after the day is over. 00:34:59 Allison: Replying to "Lynda, not an app bu..." It has the option for hourly after you search by city and pick a date. The latest data I see as of right now is for Dec 31st at 18:00 so not completely up to date. 00:35:24 Lynda Buske: Replying to "Lynda, not an app bu..." Okay thanks! 00:35:48 E O'Driscoll: HOw to see which type of account you have created with Microsoft? 00:36:52 Jocelyn Doire: Once Win10 expire, will MS account still work, and will Assist still work? 00:38:18 Allison: Replying to "Lynda, not an app bu..." But Natalie is right - I don't see where it shows hourly precipitation, only by the day. Sorry! 00:39:58 Natalie: Replying to "Lynda, not an app bu..." The temp is tracked hourly, but precip seems to be updated daily. 00:40:31 Lynda Buske: Replying to "Lynda, not an app bu..." That's what I have found on other sites. 00:40:57 Natalie: Replying to "Lynda, not an app bu..." I haven't found any other site/app that has more frequent tracking. 00:41:40 Jocelyn Doire: ok, thanks 00:41:43 Natalie: Replying to "Lynda, not an app bu..." Looks like an opportunity! 00:42:02 Stew Bruce: Replying to "Lynda, not an app bu..." If you really need to know how much it has snowed, have you tried looking out the window? 00:43:07 Natalie: Replying to "Lynda, not an app bu..." I use the data to know how close to the limit we are for my snow clearing service. There's a cap for the season, and then there's an extra charge! 00:46:10 E O'Driscoll: I have to drop off but thanks for tonight! 00:50:11 Chris Taylor, President OPCUG: Trading up to Linux part 9 PlayOnLinux https://www.playonlinux.com 00:50:25 Allison: Replying to "Lynda, not an app bu..." I use it for the same thing, Natalie! 00:52:06 Chris Taylor, President OPCUG: Elizabeth had to go - she was the one who asked how you can see what type of accounts you have in Windows - I just checked and it does identify Administrator accounts as such in the list of users. If it doesn't say "Administrator", it is a "Standard user". I will show it after Alan's presentation 01:01:39 Natalie: If there's time for a question (or I can send the Forum)...My older Samsung tablet is really slow. Given the processing limitations, are there any tips to speed things up (2G RAM, 4 bit quad core processor)? It's running I don't have many apps installed. 01:03:09 Natalie: Running Android 11 01:03:53 Natalie: Or maybe it's just old & needs upgrading?? 01:04:33 Natalie: I saw an Acer Iconia that had good specs & reviews on sale. 01:05:00 Natalie: Anyone using one? 01:05:58 Natalie: Thanks for the suggestion. I'll just have to download some apps again. 01:13:53 Chris Taylor, President OPCUG: https://biblioottawalibrary.ca/en/program?text=pc+users 01:14:06 Bob Herres: Thank you Alan, Lynda, Chris, Stu & EV1 Great Meeting -Well Done! 01:14:34 Chris Taylor, President OPCUG: https://opcug.ca/join-or-renew/ 01:14:44 Natalie: This is the only time I get told not to send money!!
