Can anyone teach or show me how to save a Word document generated in Word 365 to a folder on my PC. When I try to SaveAs the document in Word 365, it only offers folders in OneDrive. Alternatively, can anyone show me how to open a Word document on my PC in Word 365. On my PC, Word 365 does not seem to be one of the options in which to open the file 00:30:26 Tom Trottier: https://www.hitmanpro.com/en-us and Windows Defender 00:31:03 Tom Trottier: Sysinternals Process Explorer also checks running programs with Virus total 00:32:39 Tom Trottier: So Odd windows are bad........ 00:32:57 Chris Taylor (President): Windows 11 Quick Start Guide Should you upgrade to Windows 11? Though time will tell. If that time comes, may be time to fully move to Linux. 00:35:40 Tom Trottier: Reacted to "@Tom All version of..." with 😂 00:35:44 Chris Taylor (President): How to make Windows 11 look like Windows 10 in 2 minutes https://www.elevenforum.com/t/how-to-make-windows-11-look-like-windows-10-in-2-minutes.15518/ How to Make Windows 11 Look Like Windows 10 https://www.wikihow.com/Make-Windows-11-Look-Like-Windows-10 How to make Windows 11 more like Windows 10 https://www.techrepublic.com/article/how-to-make-windows-11-more-like-windows-10/ Hate Windows 11? I've struggled with Paint and I recall the PhotoScape chat..which was great.. 00:47:50 Bob Herres: Replying to "So, who wants a demo..." Thank you Lynda! 00:47:50 Gail (Secretary): I’d love a demo of removing background in PhotoScapes. 00:48:08 Bernard: yes piease 00:48:33 Chris Taylor (President): Lynda - I think there are (so far) 5 yeses and 1 heart for a demo. So we will reserve a spot for the Q&A 2 weeks out 00:48:42 Bill: For sure...please! 00:49:08 Chris Taylor (President): Loonie Bits dottotech https://www.youtube.com/user/dottotech https://dottotech.com 00:49:33 Stew Bruce: Replying to "So, who wants a demo..." Xcuse me Bob, you message is set to PM me. 00:51:08 Jeff (JEFFRO) Dubois: Quick Zoom question... is there a place in contacts (which I haven't been able to find) that one could put in recurring meeting ID's and passwords? OPCUG's meeting ID is 924 9556 0898 and it's password is always the same. I can easily remember the meeting ;password but every week I have to open the browser, go to opcug.ca, go to Q&Q, scroll down, copy the meeting ID into the clipboard, go to Zoom and paste it in. Is there a way right in Zoom to just enter the meeting ID (since it's always the same) and just click on that? I probably missed it if there is.... 00:52:21 Chris Taylor (President): https://tinyurl.com/opcug-meeting should normally always work to connect to our meetings - monthly or weekly Q&A 00:53:35 Chris Taylor (President): FairStars CD Ripper http://www.fairstars.com/cd_ripper/ https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/acts/C-42/ 00:56:55 Chris Taylor (President): To connect to OPCUG meetings on Zoom, if https://tinyurl.com/opcug-meeting doesn't work (some people have said on occasion it fails), you can use https://us02web.zoom.us/j/92495560898?pwd=cDNCcVdZVVRiZ3hQNHJzVDZNVHoxZz09 00:57:18 Tom Trottier: https://www.foobar2000.org/ will also do this & play & do much more... 00:59:06 Jeff (JEFFRO) Dubois: I purchased ExpressRip from NCH Software a few years ago which works quite similar. Populates song names from a database. Transferred all my CDs to MP3 so I could play them at the cottage. Wish I'd have f found FairStars before I bought ExpressRip 01:00:10 Jeff (JEFFRO) Dubois: Replying to "https://tinyurl.com/..." But I"m using the Zoom client. Can I enter the URL instead of the Meeting ID in that window? 01:00:41 Jeff (JEFFRO) Dubois: I bought the Pro version. :-) 01:01:39 Chris Taylor (President): Replying to "https://tinyurl.com/..." Try the URL I gave - it will open a web browser which will ask if you want to open the Zoom client. Just say yes and it opens and connects to the meeting. 01:01:45 bea: add me to the photo demo list 01:02:42 Tom Trottier: As long as YOU mane the copy, you can copy/rip friends' OR libraur CDs 01:02:54 Tom Trottier: https://www.musicbymailcanada.com/privcopy.html 01:03:04 Tom Trottier: make 01:04:10 Michelle Faber: Thank you. 01:04:41 Tom Trottier: Originally, this is frinamced by copyright holders who get a levy from all blank CDs sold 01:06:41 Micheline: Chris - how do you make it save to my PC by default? 01:07:17 Jeff (JEFFRO) Dubois: Thank you, i will look for that next time I join the meeting. I can't check it now because I'm in the meeting. 01:07:18 Tristan: For personal documentation, I'm really liking using a GitHub repository and the Markdown language (https://www.markdownguide.org/). Has the added benefit that every change is tracked so can revert if need be. 01:09:32 Alan German (Treasurer): @Tristan Would you like to demo that sometime for us? 01:09:32 Chris Taylor (President): Replying to "Chris - how do you m..." From the web app, you can't 01:10:03 Jeff (JEFFRO) Dubois: Replying to "Chris - how do you m..." Thanks. 01:11:25 Tristan: @Alan I could, just require a little advance notice to organize the demo steps. 01:11:49 Chris Taylor (President): @Tristan - we can reserve space 2 weeks from tonight if you want. 01:11:57 Alan German (Treasurer): @Tristan Next Q&A is Dec 20th (grin) 01:12:33 Tristan: @Chris and @Alan that works for me. 01:13:53 Coreen: Thanks and have a good week everyone! 01:14:20 Jeff (JEFFRO) Dubois: A quick note on OneDrive sync. If you store something on OneDrive the default is NOT to download the copy (to save space) on your local drive. If you want files synced (and downloaded) you must enable that in the app. 01:14:22 Gail (Secretary): Thank you, everyone! 01:14:40 Bill: Thanks everyone. 01:15:22 Bob Herres: Good Stuff Thank you everyone 01:15:37 E O'Driscoll: Great evening thanks everyone. 01:16:20 Jeff (JEFFRO) Dubois: Also if there's a way to remove it from 8.1. This discontinued support on old 8.1 and I cannot seem to rid myself of it. 01:16:29 Jeff (JEFFRO) Dubois: PowerShell perhaps? 01:16:36 Michelle Faber: Good evening everyone. 01:17:10 Tom Trottier: Reproduction for Private Purposes Marginal note:Reproduction for private purposes 29.22 (1) It is not an infringement of copyright for an individual to reproduce a work or other subject-matter or any substantial part of a work or other subject-matter if (a) the copy of the work or other subject-matter from which the reproduction is made is not an infringing copy; (b) the individual legally obtained the copy of the work or other subject-matter from which the reproduction is made, other than by borrowing it or renting it, and owns or is authorized to use the medium or device on which it is reproduced; (c) the individual, in order to make the reproduction, did not circumvent, as defined in section 41, a technological protection measure, as defined in that section, or cause one to be circumvented; (d) the individual does not give the reproduction away; and (e) the reproduction is used only for the individual’s private purposes. 01:17:33 Tom Trottier: So, don't borrow it - copy at your friend's place 01:18:00 Carol Pearson: thanks
