Restoring old photos
Speaker: Lynda Buske (OPCUG)
How many of us have inherited boxes of old family photos and have watched them slowly deteriorate while trying to decide what to do with them? Once you have digital versions of print photos or slides, you can edit them to bring them back to life or indeed give them a life they never had! Lynda will show how you how to work with the digital images to straighten, sharpen, adjust light, remove scratches, lines and spots using free software (Photoscape X). She will also briefly discuss the possible use of AI to improve your images and how best to display and share them afterwards (e.g., collage, photobook).
Lynda is an avid photographer who has penned the Through the Lens column in the OPCUG newsletter for the past 6 years. She has given over 140 presentations on a wide variety of photographic topics at many organizations, including the Ottawa Public Library, the Orleans Photo Club, the OPCUG, and others. Lynda is the Competition Director at the Orleans Photo Club and the Membership Chair of the OPCUG.
