How to buy a PC

Are you looking for a new PC? Maybe your PC can’t be upgraded from Windows 10 and you are staring at the looming end-of-life for Windows 10. Maybe your existing PC is feeling pokey and you want more pep in your computing. Or maybe you just have a yen for the latest & greatest (Chris won’t judge you!)
There are hundreds of computer models from dozens of vendors, many with multiple configuration options. How do you choose the right PC for your budget and style of computing?
Chris won’t tell you which PC is right for you. So why should you come out to this presentation? Because Chris will outline the differences in the major components so you will be armed with the information to find the PC that meets your needs.
Chris worked for the Federal Government for over 36 years in user and server support, IT architecture and IT security. He has given over 500 presentations at the Ottawa Public Library, written articles for the OPCUG newsletter & GlassWire’s Cybersecurity News, and was on the Community Review Board for the SANS OUCH! security newsletter.
Chris has been awarded 15 times as a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional and received the Ottawa Mayor’s City Builder Award in recognition of his volunteer computer education efforts.
